SLS the Foaming Agent cancerous?

This morning a post about SLS. I had never heard about it. So when taking a shower I though I would do some label reading. All the top products have SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)"the definition" it is a caustic detergent (meaning able to burn or corrode organic tissue by chemical action) this product is useful for removing grease (off garages, remove grease off car engines, or shops floors that work on cars) although this substances is commonly used as a foaming agent in personal care items (like the above). SLS and it's close relative Sodium Laureth Sulfate(SLES) are used in many soaps, shampoos, conditioners, body,washes, mouthwash, toothpaste, sun screen, shaving cream, mascara, carpet cleaner, children soaps, dish soaps, bubble baths, moisturizer lotion, stain removers, laundry detergents and thing that we expect to "foam up". There are over 150 different names that companies list them under.In fact, SLES is commonly contaminated with dioxane, a known carcinogen. 

 A concentration of these substances as low as 0.5% can cause irritation and 10-30% concentration cause skin corrosion and severe irritation some of these SLS filled products have 30% concentration which the American College of Toxicology reported "highly irritating and dangerous". 

They use this product because it is so cheap! It has also been found and well documented that SLS & SLES denatures skin proteins, which causes not only irritation, but also allows environmental contaminants easier access to the lower, sensitive layers of skin. 

These products also absorb in your skin and can stay for 5 days after use . they mimic the activity of hormones Oestrogen(female sex hormones) this affects problems like PMS and menopausal symptoms to dropping male fertility and increasing female cancers such as breast cancer where oestrogen levels are know to be involved. better yet known as a carcinogenic (cancer causing) just because something is marked "organic or natural " it doesn't mean its safe. we must read the label.
